Eamon Kenny – Abused by Stephen Turton

2 min read

Eamon Kenny, now 36, was abused by Stephen Francis Turton (10/06/1952) in the early 1990s while playing for a local youth football team that Turton coached in Salford.

Turton was sentenced to 13 years and 6 months in prison on Wednesday 6 March 2019 after pleading guilty to multiple counts of sexual abuse.

Eamon has bravely waived his right to anonymity in order to encourage other victims of child sexual abuse to report it to police.

He thanked police and the independent charity Sporting Chance (www.sportingchanceclinic.com) for the support he’s received since coming forward to tell his story.

If you or someone you know has been raped or sexually assaulted, we encourage you not to suffer in silence and report it to the police, or a support agency so you can get the help and support available.
